Life Update 2021

I thought it would be befitting to make an update on my birthday. With the current pandemic and such, I’ve had ample amounts of opportunity to reflect on myself and my decisions.

Many things have happened this year (both good and bad) but I can only express gratitude in the many friends I have made and the different perspectives I have been able to gain by talking to many different people. As with many negative experiences that have happened in life, it is easy to fall into anger; anger at the situation or a specific person but this anger doesn’t solve any situation and usually makes things much worse. I have found that it’s important to see every situation as a new opportunity to learn, adapt, and overall grow as a person.

In terms of software development. I have been working on my solidifying my React foundation, as well as learning the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js) and iOS development in order to have more of a well rounded full-stack as well as mobile experience.

It’s been a wild year and can only be described, at least with my experiences, as both eventful and uneventful. Dear reader, I hope you and your family have been doing well during these tumultuous times and I wish for the best.

Until next time!

Udemy React Part 1

I’ve been trying to teach myself React! The concepts are pretty interesting and the course had been done pretty well! You can check on my progress on Github here. Or the individual React project links on the Projects page.

The course is provided by Udemy and is called Modern React with Redux 2020 Update. As of this post, I have finished 5 Projects and am on Section 12 of the course.

Until next time!

Life Update 2020

Hello! It’s been sometime since I’ve last posted on here.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in December 2018, started working in June 2019, and am now on the hunt June 2020. Life comes fast, especially during a pandemic.

It’s a weird time in the world right now, but I’m currently healthy and safe and there’s not much else to ask for.

With all this free time, I’m going to continue my Android projects, maybe take some more classes, and keep up with my website. I guess it’s time to clean up my Github as well.

Maybe I’ll even post some pictures of the meals I’ve been making.

Update 2019

Haven’t updated the website in a while and will start adding on more projects as well as more restaraunts! If I have time, I’ll try to put up some reviews of movies, tv shows, or video games. Going to see how I can incorporate Twitter or Instagram on the website as well.

Flickster Part 2 (Android)

As part of Week 2 of the Android Course by CodePath,I have updated the Flickster Android application to include a movie details page that shows the movie ratings, as well as release date and have used the YouTube API to play have a YouTube video for a trailer to be shown. I have also made sure that the player will only exclusively play the movie trailer.

Due to time commitments, I will try and work on this app a little more in the near future but some potential updates to the app include:

• showing the movie poster if a trailer doesn’t exist

• fixing an error where the app crashes when in horizontal mode

• including a night mode

• changing the UI to be more aethestically pleasing

Here’s a walkthrough of the application! I’ll update it if I get around to making those changes. Flickster Part 2
